Every commercial delivery has different operating requirements. The base quote accounts for the agreed vehicle, route, mileage, driver time, and service scope. Additional charges may apply when a shipment requires work beyond that original scope.
DEWTEK Logistics identifies applicable additional charges in the quote or service agreement whenever the requirements are known in advance. Unplanned changes or delays are handled according to the agreed service terms.
Additional Services & Charges
Waiting Time
Applies when a driver is delayed beyond the included loading, unloading, or delivery allowance due to site access, customer readiness, paperwork, or other delays outside the agreed scope.
Waiting-time allowance and billing increments are stated in the quote.
Additional Stops
Applies when a customer adds pickup or delivery locations beyond the stops included in the original route.
Additional stops may affect mileage, driver hours, and route sequencing.
Additional Mileage
Applies when the actual approved route exceeds the mileage included in the quoted service.
Mileage calculations and any included distance are defined in the quote.
After-Hours Service
May apply to deliveries requested outside standard operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Availability and any applicable premium are confirmed before service acceptance.
Loading & Unloading Assistance
Additional labor may be required when a delivery involves handling beyond standard driver responsibilities.
Helpers, extended handling, and special labor are quoted separately when applicable.
Special Equipment
Liftgates, pallet jacks, specialized handling equipment, or other requested equipment may affect the service price.
Equipment must be requested and confirmed before dispatch.
Tolls & Parking
Actual tolls, required parking fees, and other route-related charges may be passed through when applicable.
Any estimated or known charges can be identified in the quote.
Special Access Requirements
Restricted delivery windows, difficult site access, special entry procedures, or unusual handling requirements may require additional planning or labor.
These requirements should be disclosed when requesting a quote.
Failed or Reattempted Delivery
A reattempt or return trip may result in additional charges when delivery cannot be completed due to an inaccurate address, unavailable recipient, denied access, or other circumstances outside the agreed service scope.
Reattempts are subject to scheduling and customer approval.
Cancellation & Late Changes
Charges may apply when a confirmed delivery is canceled or materially changed after resources have been committed.
Applicable notice periods and cancellation terms are stated in the quote or service agreement.
Mileage and Route Scope Matter
A delivery route can involve more than the distance between the pickup and final destination. Vehicle positioning, return travel, deadhead mileage, multiple stops, and route changes can all affect the cost of providing service.
Your quote will identify the mileage basis used for pricing, including whether it covers one-way travel, round-trip travel, a defined route, or another agreed mileage allowance.
Additional mileage is not automatically assumed to be included in a minimum service charge. Any included mileage and applicable excess-mile rate will be stated in the quote.

Provide approximate length, width, height, and total shipment weight.
Pickup & Delivery Access
Tell us about loading docks, stairs, elevators, restricted entrances, and site access.
Loading Requirements
Identify whether freight is palletized, packaged, loose, or requires additional handling.
Timing & Stops
Provide requested pickup times, delivery windows, stop counts, and expected wait times.
How Additional Charges Are Handled
- Known additional requirements are included in the original quote whenever practical.

- Customer-requested changes are subject to approval and operational feasibility.
- Additional work may require a revised quote or written authorization.
- Actual pass-through expenses, such as tolls or parking, are handled as stated in the quote.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are surcharges included in the base delivery price?
Only when specifically included in the quote. Additional stops, waiting time, extra mileage, special equipment, and other accessorial services may be priced separately.
When does waiting-time billing begin?
The included waiting allowance and billing increments are established in the quote or service agreement. Review those terms before confirming the delivery.
Are return miles included?
Not necessarily. The quote will identify whether pricing is based on one-way mileage, round-trip mileage, a defined route, or another agreed mileage basis.
Can I add stops after the delivery is confirmed?

What if the delivery location is not ready?

Will I be told about extra charges?
